ANQ Dashain Cup - Soccer Tournament Concluded

 

ANQ organized an ANQ Dashain Cup Soccer Tournament 2012 on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Kent Park, 3101 - 3299 Avenue Appleton, Montreal. There were six teams including Montreal,  Sherbrooke, Juliette, St-Jêrome and 2 teams from Quebec City.

Despite unfavourable weather conditions, all the teams arrived on time. However due to rain, game started only at 11 a.m. Games were played on knock-out basis. First game was played between St-Jêrome and Sherbrooke, where St-Jêrome won the game. Quebec B team won the second game against Juliette . Third game was between Quebec City A and Montreal and was won by Quebec A. In the fourth game, Quebec City A was playing against Quebec City B. Game was so competitive that the game ended in draw and it had to be decided with penalty shootout. Quebec City B entered final after winning the game in the penalty shootout.

Final game was played between Quebec City B and St-Jêrome. Both the teams played very good. However, St-Jêrome won the Tournament by beating their opponent by 2-0. Best player of the tournament was Mr. Roza Karki from St-Jêrome team.

Certificates and medals were distributed to players by ANQ officials (Board member Hom Lamichhane, Advisor Prakash Mungrati, Advisor Sharad Subba, Board member and Sports Coordinator Balmukunda Maharjan and President Muga Rajbhandari.

ANQ would like to thank all the players, coaches, members of organizing committee, sports committees of all the cities, viewers and supporters for making it a successful event. We are sure, we will have bigger sports event in days to come. Thank you!
