ANQ Organized Mini Marathon 2024

Jarry Park buzzed with excitement and community spirit today as the Association of Nepalese in Quebec (ANQ) hosted its annual Mini Marathon. The event, which drew all the enthusiastic participants, not only showcased the vibrancy of Montreal's Nepalese community but also highlighted the community spirit and charitable efforts of the Nepalese diaspora.

“The energy today has been fantastic,” said Mr. Deep Nandan Achhami, President of the Association of Nepalese in Quebec. “This event is about more than just running; it’s a way for us to come together as a community, celebrate our heritage, and encourage healthy living.” The Mini Marathon was more than just a race; it was a family affair. Shital Karki, Uma Mangrati and Pranav Gupta secured their first position in men, women and children’s categories respectively. After crossing the finish line, participants were treated to a selection of coffee and light snacks, including croissants. Awards were a highlight of the morning, with winners including 1^st and 2^nd runner-up in all three categories comprising Man, Women and Children receiving beautifully crafted trophies and medals followed by cash prizes in recognition of their achievements. In addition to the competitive awards, every participant who completed the race was presented with a medal. This gesture was not only a celebration of their accomplishment but also a motivational push for continued participation in future events. Mr. Achhami also thanked volunteers and sponsors for their contributions. The success of this year’s event was a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of the ANQ and the broader Montreal community.

With its combination of competitive spirit, community engagement, and hospitable gathering, the Mini Marathon has once again proven to be a shining example of how events can bring people together for a common cause.
